RISING TEMPERATURES IN MONACO'S 2023 CLIMATE

The recent study by Imsee on the climate in Monaco in 2023 confirms an increase in temperatures and a decrease in precipitation. Although temperatures didn't break the records of the previous year, they remain among the highest. Average temperatures have been rising each decade since 1970, with lows around 14 to 16 degrees compared to around 12 degrees in the 1970s. Temperature deviations from seasonal norms were significant, with prolonged heat waves extending into the fall. Regarding precipitation, 2023 saw a significant deficit compared to normal, with only 47 days of rain throughout the year. Two heatwave episodes also marked the summer, making it one of the hottest on record, with maximum temperatures reaching 34.9 degrees.
